Precor facility earns LEED certification The Business Journal of the Greater Triad Area Precor's new manufacturing facility in Guilford County has earned LEED CI Gold Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council, according to an announcement. The certification comes under the council's Leadership in Energy and Efficient Design program for recognizing sustainable design and construction practices. Among the steps Precor took to secure the gold certification were using low-flow fixtures to reduce water consumption by 42 percent, achieving a 38 percent reduction in connected lighting power density and recycling or diverting 80 percent of on-site generated construction waste away from landfills. "This distinguished award is the result of more than 18 months of preparing, planning and execution by our developers, architects, contractors and Precor," said Paul Byrne, Precor's president. "Together we were able to deliver this project on time and under budget." |
